UAE Tourist Visa 2026: Options, Duration, How to Apply

July 1, 2026 · 8 min read

The United Arab Emirates offers more short-stay visa options than almost any other destination. In 2026 the practical choice for most travellers is between the 30-day tourist visa, the 60-day tourist visa, and the multi-entry tourist visa valid for five years.

The 30-day tourist visa suits most first-time visitors. It is single-entry, extendable once for another 30 days without leaving the country. The 60-day tourist visa doubles the initial stay and is a better fit for extended trips or visiting family.

The five-year multi-entry tourist visa allows unlimited entries with each stay capped at 90 days per visit and a total of 180 days per year. It is popular with frequent business visitors and travellers with family in the UAE.

Requirements are similar across all tourist categories: passport valid for at least six months, a recent colour photograph on a white background, proof of accommodation for the duration of the stay, a return or onward flight booking, and evidence of funds — typically bank statements covering the last three months.

Processing is usually fast. Standard tourist visas are issued in three to five working days; express options can deliver a visa within 24 hours. Once approved, the visa is sent electronically.

The 90-day Green visa and Golden visa are residence categories rather than tourist visas — they suit investors, skilled professionals, and property owners rather than short-stay visitors.

Common issues in 2026 are photograph rejections (background must be plain white with clear facial features), passport validity below six months, and incomplete accommodation bookings that do not cover the full stay.
